Tritium Infrared (IR) betalight

Infrared (IR) light is a type of light that we cannot see with our eyes and can only be seen with special equipment, like night vision.

Typical Applications

• Buzz saw to mark your position : An Infrared betalight tied on a string, looped continuously in a 6-foot arc. This is for air support better visible than a strobe.
• Infantry Night Aid: personnel marking during night patrols
• Mark your position for close air support
• Passive IR is recommended for Marines on the ground.
• Mark the landing site for helicopters

Operation

From the air, IR lamps are usually more visible than colored lights. IR betalights are

not as visible on high-light-level nights.
Betalights are self-illuminating, requiring no batteries, bulbs or secondary light source. They are suitable for use in hazardous atmospheres and will continue to operate normally in adverse environmental conditions, even when immersed in water. betalights are rated for operation in temperatures between -60°C and +70°C.

Fixing
We are able to assemble the IR Betalight in the Torch, helmet marker, Soldiers personal illuminator, kitmarkers or in our multipurpose markers.

Physical Characteristics
Illumination is provided by a Betalight® fixed securely within the unit. SRB Technologies is the original developer of Betalights®, an innovative gaseous tritium light source. Betalights® are self-illuminating light sources that provide absolute reliability throughout their service life of 10 years. They contain no moving parts and are maintenance-free. As the IR Betalight is continuously illuminated throughout its operational life, an on-off switch is not required.
