The tape is self-luminous, needing no external or internal electrical power supply. The photoluminescent strips are charged in ambient offce lighting conditions, whilst betalight inserts provide continuously illuminated red and green way guidance markers. In the event of reduced visibility, perhaps due to power failure, the system is immediately evident,
providing visual and tactile guidance to personnel. The photoluminescent strip will gradually reduce in brightness over a period of 60 minutes whilst betalight markers continue to operate even during prolonged periods of total darkness.
